How to Prevent Blisters

YOU WILL NEVER FINISH A MARATHON IF YOU DON’T DO THIS…

Do you ever get blisters when you go the distance? It has happened to me more times than I’d like to admit. Ultimately, my blisters in the past were caused by wearing the wrong running shoe. After I switched from those shoes to the Brooks Glycerin, I had no more blisters!

When running distances increase to marathons and ultras, blisters and irritation are going to happen no matter what type of shoes you’re wearing. Consider yourself lucky if this hasn’t happened to you! Here are some cheap hacks to help you manage and finish your race with pride!

  1. Apply duct tape to blister prone areas. If you are unsure of where those areas are, notice if you have skin sensitivity anywhere on your foot after your next long run. If you do, apply duct tape to that spot next run. Make sure you put the tape on your feet at least an hour before your run or even the night before. ⚠️ Medical and paper tape may work better than duct tape. Keep in mind – my goal is to give you affordable options in the event you don’t have access to medical or paper tape!
  2. Put Vaseline on the sensitive areas right before your run and right before you put your socks on your feet.

My Brooks have been incredible and I haven’t had to use tape on my feet recently. One thing I have been doing is applying Vaseline to the sides of my big toes because this is definitely a hot spot for me!

🦶Common “Hot” spots include sides of your feet and toes, arches, balls of your feet, and heels.

Go try this out and let me know how it goes!
