My hip flexors and internal rotators are always so tight and sore, especially during a training block. There are many stretches I have done to help loosen them to maximize my performance but recently found a new trick! This new, nontraditional stretch pinpoints the hip internal rotators and here is how to do it!
✅ Sit on a countertop or on a chair. I use a countertop because I’m very tall and I like my feet not touching the ground.
✅ Grab your broomstick from the closet
✅ Place on the outside of your leg and twist your foot/ ankle around the pole of the broomstick
✅ Hold the top of the broom handle and bring toward the center of your body. You will feel the stretch in your hip!
TIP 👟 For the best stretch, keep your upper body and pelvis very still in order to isolate the hip.
Have you tried this? What is your favorite hip opener?
