I bet you know how exciting it is to break in new shoes. They look and feel amazing! I go out of my way to keep them as perfect as possible both on the inside and outside. I will try to avoid the rain, puddles, mud, and any debris. But any runner knows that’s almost impossible to sustain. If you wait for the perfect conditions to run, you would never be able to run! So I have 4 easy ways to protect your shoes to make them last longer:
✅ NEVER slip your feet in and out of the shoe without undoing and redoing the laces. Repeated slipping in and out will stretch the shoe and wear the fabric in the shoe.
✅ ALWAYS stuff your shoes with newspaper after running in the rain. This will absorb the water without the shoe losing its shape. (CHECK OUT my reel on this👇)
✅ WEAR correct socks. Low cut socks will wear out the back and inside of the shoe quickly compared to higher cut socks. Make sure your socks are meant for running or else the fabric will wear the inside of your shoes.
✅ ALWAYS wear the correct type of shoe for the terrain you plan on running. For example, don’t wear road shoes on trails or trail shoes on the roads.
